Why dental implants come up in so many Perth dental conversations
Dental implants perth is one of the most searched dental terms in the city, and the reason is simple. A missing tooth does not just change how you eat or smile, it changes the teeth around it over time. An implant is one of the few treatments that replaces the whole tooth, root included, rather than just covering the gap.
Missing teeth are more common than most people realise. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s *National Study of Adult Oral Health 2017-18*, 8.6% of Australians aged 15 and over have fewer than 21 natural teeth, well short of the 28 to 32 most adults are born with. That figure covers a wide range of ages and causes, from decay to injury to gum disease, but it points to the same underlying need: a permanent, fixed way to replace a tooth that will not come back.
A dental implant answers that need directly. It is placed once, functions like a natural tooth, and does not rely on the surrounding teeth for support the way a bridge or a denture does.
A single dental implant, built to last
A single dental implant is built for exactly one job: replacing one missing tooth without touching the teeth either side of it. It sits in the jaw where the natural root used to be, and it stays there. For most adults with one missing tooth and enough healthy bone to support an implant, this is the treatment that changes the least about the rest of the mouth.
Once the implant itself is placed, the visible part, the crown, is designed and milled by our own in-house digital lab. That keeps the fit, shade and shape of the crown under one roof rather than sent out and back.
The services grid below sets out the different ways a dental implant perth treatment plan can look, depending on how many teeth are missing.
Single tooth implant.
One implant, one crown, for one missing tooth. Covered in detail below.
Missing several teeth or an implant bridge.
A small number of implants supporting a bridge across a gap of several teeth.
Full arch, All-on-4 or All-on-X.
Most or all of the teeth in one jaw, replaced on a fixed bridge. See our[All-on-4 pages for the two full-arch options.
Implant-retained dentures.
A removable denture anchored to implants for extra stability.
The three parts of a single dental implant
A single dental implant perth treatment is made up of three parts, each doing a different job.
The implant post.
A titanium post placed in the jawbone, taking over the role the natural tooth root used to play.
The abutment.
A small connector piece that joins the post to the visible tooth above it.
The crown.
The part you see and use to bite and chew, designed and milled in our own lab to match the surrounding teeth.
Missing more than one tooth? Here is what changes
A single implant works well for one missing tooth. Once more teeth are involved, the plan changes shape.
If you are missing a few teeth in a row, an implant bridge is often the answer: a small number of implants supporting a fixed bridge across the gap. If you are missing most or all of the teeth in one jaw, that is a different treatment altogether, and it is covered on our dedicated full-arch pages, not here. Our [All-on-4](/services/all-on-4/) page covers the standard, fixed four-implant protocol, and our All-on-X page covers the assessed alternative, used when a case needs a different implant count.
A few missing teeth and a whole missing arch are different problems, with different implant plans.
Planned and milled without leaving the building
Every crown placed on a dental implant here starts as a digital scan, and that scan never leaves the clinic. Our in-house dental lab plans and mills the crown on site, using the same file created at your scan.
That matters for two reasons. It cuts out the courier trip most patients never see, and it keeps the same team that scanned your mouth in control of the finished result.
Your crown is designed and milled in the same clinic that placed your implant.
From consultation to a finished tooth
- Free consultation and scan. We assess your case and take a digital scan.
- Treatment plan and price. Set out in writing before anything is placed.
- Implant placement. The titanium post is placed in the jaw.
- Healing period. Time for the implant to integrate with the bone.
- Crown fitted. In many cases, milled and fitted the same day the healing period ends.
Cosmetic dentistry alongside your implant
An implant restores the function and shape of one missing tooth. Some patients choose to pair that with teeth whitening or Invisalign to address the rest of the smile at the same time.
Family dentistry, alongside implant care
Implant treatment does not have to mean a separate clinic for the rest of your family’s dental care. Our general dentistry service covers everyday checkups, fillings and cleans for every age, alongside implant work.
Lost a tooth suddenly? We can talk implants and emergency care together
A tooth lost to trauma or a failed tooth that finally gives out often starts as an emergency dentistry visit, not a planned one. Once the situation is stabilised, that same visit can move straight into implant planning if replacement is the right next step.
Published dental implant pricing
A single dental implant starts from $1,999 unrestored, or $3,999 with the crown included. Both figures, and every other implant price we offer, are published in full on our dedicated pricing page, not held back until consultation.

Dental Implants FAQs
Most adults with healthy gums and sufficient jawbone density are suitable candidates for dental implants. During your initial consultation in Perth, our clinicians use 3D CT imaging to assess your bone structure and create a safe, tailored treatment plan.
With proper oral hygiene and routine dental check-ups, dental implants are designed to be a long-term, permanent solution. The titanium post integrates directly into your jawbone, providing lifelong support for your custom crown or bridge.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic to ensure you remain comfortable and pain-free throughout. For patients who feel anxious, we also offer sleep dentistry and sedation options to make the experience as stress-free as possible.
Yes, depending on your health fund provider and level of extras cover (typically major dental). We recommend checking directly with your health fund, and our front desk team can provide you with item codes for accurate quotes.
