Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

A “root canal” is a term used to describe the natural cavity in the center of a tooth. This area contains a soft area known as the pulp chamber that houses the nerves and blood vessels of a tooth. If this area becomes irritated or infected due to cavities, trauma or decay, root canal treatment may be a viable option. Root canal treatment includes a variety of treatments (usually over a series of visits) to either calm the pulp or allow it to heal, clean the canal system and fill this space once healing is complete. With many years of experience in this area, Mia Dental Centre use current evidence based practices to achieve reliable, predictable and straightforward and long term outcomes. Occasionally more complex cases need referral to specialist endodontic practice.
